Hit rate shows the share of winning signals. For example, if 120 out of 200 settled bets won, the hit rate is 60%. The metric should be evaluated together with the coefficients: a high hit rate does not always mean a profit.
Why hit rate alone is not enough
A strategy can win often but still remain unprofitable because of low coefficients. And vice versa, with high coefficients a profit is possible even with a relatively small share of wins. Therefore hit rate and average coefficient must be considered together.
Break-even point
Minimum hit rate ≈ 100% / coefficient
With identical coefficients and stakes the break-even point for a coefficient of 1.5 is about 66.7%, for 2.0 — 50%, for 3.0 — about 33.3%. The actual result also depends on the distribution of coefficients, voids and the rules of bet settlement.
Where to view the metric
In BetLab hit rate is displayed in the algorithm statistics and bot ranking. On the “Leagues” tab it can be viewed separately by tournaments and the strategy results in different championships can be compared.
