BTTS means “both teams to score”. In international lines this market is often designated as BTTS. The “Yes” bet wins if each team scores at least one goal. The “No” bet wins if at least one team does not score.
The match result does not matter
For the “BTTS — Yes” bet results such as 1:1, 2:1 and 3:2 are suitable. With a score of 0:0, 1:0 or 3:0 the “BTTS — No” option wins. Which team won is irrelevant for the settlement of the bet.
What to take into account in analysis
- Scoring and quality of chances of both teams.
- Defensive reliability and the number of goals conceded.
- Line-ups, style of play and tournament situation before the match.
Difference from total goals
BTTS and total goals are related but calculated differently. For example, with a score of 3:0 a bet on Over 2.5 wins, while a “BTTS — Yes” bet loses because only one team scored.
