Double chance

Double chance is a bet on two of the three possible match outcomes at once: 1X — home team wins or draws, 12 — one of the teams wins, X2 — away team wins or draws. The probability of winning is higher than in the 1X2 market, so the coefficient is usually lower.

Double chance options

  • 1X wins on a home win or a draw.
  • 12 wins if either team wins and loses on a draw.
  • X2 wins on an away win or a draw.

Why the coefficient is lower

A regular outcome bet covers one result, while double chance covers two. Due to the higher calculated probability the coefficient decreases. Its size depends on the teams, the tournament and the bookmaker’s assessment.

What to take into account when choosing

A low coefficient by itself does not make a bet safe or profitable. For example, at a coefficient of 1.15 one loss covers the profit from several winning bets. Therefore double chance also needs to be evaluated taking into account the probability of the outcome and the bookmaker’s margin.
