Intensity is a metric of the team’s attacking activity in points. In BetLab a shot on target gives 10 points, a shot off target — 5, and a corner and a dangerous attack — 1 point each. The higher the value, the more attacking actions the team performed in the selected period.
Intensity for the last 10 minutes
The metric is calculated from events in the last ten minutes of the match and is regularly updated. It helps to see the current activity of the team: for example, whether it started attacking more often after the break, a substitution or a conceded goal.
Intensity for the match
Match intensity reflects the overall attacking activity of the team from the start of the game. The metric allows comparison of teams, but by itself does not determine the quality of chances and does not guarantee that high activity will lead to a goal.
How to use intensity
- Growth of the metric may indicate an increase in the team’s attacking activity.
- It is useful to evaluate intensity together with the score, shots, xG and other metrics.
- In the algorithm constructor intensity can be used as one of the conditions for creating a Live signal.
