Thai League 4, the fourth tier of Thailand's football pyramid, features amateur and semi-professional clubs from across the country. It serves as a crucial stepping stone for regional teams aspiring to climb the ranks, showcasing grassroots passion and untapped talent in provinces far from Bangkok's spotlight.

History and foundation

Launched in 2017 amid Thailand's football restructuring by the FA, it formalized what was previously a patchwork of regional leagues. A notable event was Lampang FC's surprise playoff run in 2019. The league adapted to COVID-19 disruptions with empty-stadium games, and in 2022 expanded to 72 teams in six regions, boosting competitiveness.

Tournament format

Divided into six regional zones (North, Northeast, Central, East, West, South) with 12 teams each, clubs play a 22-match home-and-away schedule per zone. Zone winners and top runners-up advance to playoffs for promotion to Thai League 3. Bottom teams drop to fifth-tier regional leagues; playoffs culminate in a national champion.
