The Slovak Youth Football League, often referred to as MOL Liga U19, is the top-tier competition for players under 19 years old. Organized by the Football Association of Slovakia (SFZ), it serves as a vital breeding ground for talents transitioning to professional ranks, featuring reserve squads from top First League clubs and emphasizing youth development.

History and foundation

Launched in its current form in 1993, the league traces roots to the socialist era's youth tournaments aimed at national team pipelines. Rebranded in the 2010s with MOL Group sponsorship, it gained prominence. Notable highlights include Spartak Trnava's three-peat from 2018–2020 and Dukla Banska Bystrica's thrilling 2022 title win. Fun fact: Stars like Martin Dubravka (Newcastle United goalkeeper) and Stanislav Lobotka honed skills here.

Tournament format

The season features 12 teams playing a single round-robin of 22 matches, aligning with senior fixtures. U19 age limit applies (up to 3 overage players allowed). Standings are based on points, with top three advancing to a national superfinal. A knockout cup adds excitement.
