The First League of Women's Football in Slovakia is the top tier of national women's football, run by the Football Association of Slovakia (SFZ). History and foundation

Established in the 1990s post-Czechoslovakia split, the league solidified in the 2000s. Early dominance by FC Artmedia Petržalka gave way to Slovan Bratislava's era in the 2010s with multiple titles. The 2018/19 season saw Pomoravie Trebisov’s surprise runner-up finish, while 2022 marked the 30th anniversary with peak attendance at top clashes. Slovak sides have challenged in UEFA Champions League qualifiers against powerhouses like Wolfsburg.

Tournament format

12 teams compete in a double round-robin format—22 matches each. The champion claims the title and enters UCL qualifiers; runner-up eyes Europa League paths. Bottom teams face relegation playoffs against Second League sides. Since 2023, cup playoffs add postseason thrill. Games occur on semi-pro stadiums holding 1,000–5,000 fans.
