Super League 2 U19 is the youth division of Greek football where teams from Super League and lower divisions compete in the under-19 age group. It serves as a breeding ground for talents destined for senior squads of elite clubs. Young players hone their speed, technique, and tactical awareness under the watchful eyes of scouts across Greece's pitches.

History and foundation

Launched amid Greece's football pyramid reforms in the early 2010s to bolster youth development post-match-fixing scandals of the 2000s. A highlight was 2018 when Olympiacos U19 thrashed opponents 15-0 in a record rout. The 2020 COVID pause disrupted play, but resumption sparked excitement: Panathinaikos U19 clinched the title, unearthing a prodigious midfielder who joined a top European academy. The league has evolved with video analysis and UEFA-standard fitness regimens.

Tournament format

The competition features a two-stage format: a regular season with 14-16 teams playing home-and-away round-robin, followed by top 8 in playoffs for the title and bottom teams in relegation battles. Matches are 90 minutes (two 45-minute halves) per FIFA youth rules. Season runs September to May with a winter break. Top prize includes Greek Youth Cup entry and club prize money.
