Launched in 2021 by the KFF to boost regional football post-pandemic, the inaugural edition was won by Almaty's Kairat-Atletika, who defeated Zhetysu 2-1 in the final. Caspian from Atyrau triumphed in 2022, followed by Ulytau from Karaganda in 2023. A notable incident: a 2022 quarter-final between Elimai and Okzhetpes sparked controversy over a referee call, fueling media debates.
