The Crimean Championship Premier League is the top tier of club football on the peninsula, run by the Football Union of Crimea (FUC) under RFU auspices. Launched in its current form in 2015 following Crimea's accession to Russia, it showcases regional talent and ambitious projects amid unique geopolitical circumstances.

History and foundation

Roots trace to Soviet times with teams like Kerch Ocean and Sevastopol's Black Sea SC. The modern era began in 2015/16, won by TSK-Tavriya Simferopol. Notably, in 2016, Krymteplicya Bahchisaray staged a comeback championship victory. Matches often played without crowds for security, yet fan passion endures. TSK-Tavriya holds five titles as of 2024, the record.

Tournament format

Features 10-12 teams in a double round-robin (home and away), totaling 18-22 matches per side. Champion claims the title and RF Regions Cup spot; runner-up eyes FNL-2 promotion. Bottom two relegate to First League. Season runs August to May, with weather breaks. 2023/24 introduced playoffs for RFU European qualifiers.
