Launched in 2021 amid post-pandemic youth development pushes, the inaugural edition saw Atlético Nacional U-25 defeat Deportes Tolima 2-1 in the final. Millonarios U-25 claimed the 2022 title, followed by Independiente Medellín in 2023. A highlight: the 2022 semifinal between Nacional and América drew 15,000 fans to Estadio Atanasio Girardot, underscoring its growing appeal. It's become a key pipeline for Colombia's U-23 national team.

Tournament format

Featuring 20 teams, the tournament uses a straight knockout format: round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final. Single-leg ties on neutral or home grounds, strictly U-25 eligible players. Held March to June alongside leagues.
