The Slovenian Women's Championship, or PrvaLiga Žensk, is the top tier of women's club football in Slovenia. It features leading teams vying for the national title and European spots, with the league gaining momentum amid the rise of Slovenian women's football internationally.

History and foundation

Established in 1991 post-independence, the league saw early dominance by Ljubljana and Maribor sides. In the 2000s, Krka Novo Mesto clinched multiple titles, setting a consecutive wins record. Notably, in 2011, Mura became the first eastern Slovenian champion. Slovenia's national team debut at Euro 2022 boosted the league; in 2023, Pomurje from Murska Sobota defended their title.

Tournament format

The season follows a double round-robin format with 14 teams playing 26 matches each. Final standings determine the champion and relegation. Winners enter UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers, runners-up the Conference League. Play-offs decide survival for lower teams.
