The Central Youth League U-19 (Centralna Liga Juniorów U-19) stands as a cornerstone of Polish youth football, pitting the academies of Ekstraklasa and I Liga clubs against each other. It is a vital breeding ground for future stars, emphasizing skill development, tactical awareness, and competitive edge among players under 19.

History and foundation

Launched in 2013, the league replaced fragmented regional setups to foster nationwide rivalry. Integrated into PZPN's structure since 2016, winners feed into national youth teams and senior pathways. Key moments: the 2020 pandemic suspension led to innovative VAR trials; Lechia Gdańsk's dominant 2018/19 campaign with a 70-25 goal tally; alumni like Bartosz Sławinski of Legia Warsaw highlight its legacy.

Tournament format

Featuring 14 teams split into northern and southern groups, each plays 26 regular-season games. Top 8 advance to a double-round-robin playoff for the title, while bottom sides face relegation to the First Youth League. The season runs August to June with a winter break; 2023/24 added Euro spots for academies.
