The Central U19 League is one of four regional divisions in Poland's III Liga for youth teams under 19. It brings together top academies and clubs from central Poland, emphasizing talent development for future pro careers. This competition is a crucial step in the Polish football pyramid, where young players hone skills in a competitive setting, preparing for senior challenges. Matches occur on semi-pro pitches, drawing scouts from Ekstraklasa and abroad.

History and foundation

Launched in 2016 amid PZPN's youth football reforms, the league saw early dominance by Warsaw and Lodz sides like Legia's academy and Lechia Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The 2019/20 season was halted by COVID but resumed with Polonia Warsaw's triumph. In 2022, a doping scandal in one team tightened regulations. Notably, Nicola Zalewski (now at Roma) and Kacper Kozlowski (Brighton) emerged from here.

Tournament format

Features 14-16 teams in a double round-robin: home and away, totaling 26-30 matches. Top finisher advances to national U19 playoffs or higher division; bottom two relegate to Second Division Central. Season runs August to June with winter break, under FIFA youth rules prioritizing fair play.
