The Turkish U19 Championship (Türkiye U19 Ligi) is the premier national youth league run by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), pitting U19 squads from top clubs against each other. It acts as a vital breeding ground for talent, offering structured competition that mirrors senior professional football and helps nurture the next generation for Turkey's domestic and international stages.

History and foundation

Launched in the 1990s amid youth development reforms to curb talent drain to Europe, the league hit milestones like Galatasaray's dominant 2005 final win over Fenerbahçe (4-1), sparking optimism for a golden era. The 2010s brought challenges from club financial woes, but TFF's 2018 investments revived it—Beşiktaş claimed the 2022 title with a record 78 points. Fun fact: Merkan Demirtas, now a Galatasaray star, made his mark here.

Tournament format

The season features 18–20 teams split into two groups for a double round-robin (home and away). Top four from each advance to playoffs: quarterfinals, semifinals, and a neutral-venue final. Runs September to May, with breaks for U19 internationals. Standard scoring: 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw.
