The Italian Primavera 3 Championship is a key tier in Italy's youth football pyramid, focusing on nurturing talent from Serie C and lower division clubs. Under-19 players compete here, honing skills in a competitive environment that mirrors the tactical depth of Italian soccer.

History and foundation

Launched in 2020 as part of FIGC's youth reform, Primavera 3 emerged from splitting the old single Primavera league into tiers: 1 for Serie A elites, 2 for Serie B, and 3 for the rest. The debut season featured 32 teams in groups amid COVID disruptions. A highlight: Monza's academy reached the 2022 final as underdogs, showcasing the league's parity. It has evolved into a scout hotspot.

Tournament format

The format splits 14–16 teams into 2–3 regional groups. Regular season: home-and-away double round-robin, 3 points for wins, 1 for draws. Group winners advance to national playoffs for the title. 2nd–4th places vie for promotion to Primavera 2; bottom teams face relegation. Playoffs are knockout with semis and final on neutral grounds.
