The Jordanian Women's Championship is the top-tier national league for women's football, run by the Jordan Football Association (JFA). It brings together Jordan's premier female clubs, fostering growth in women's soccer across the Middle East. Amid a male-dominated sports landscape, the league spotlights emerging talents and bolsters the national team's campaigns for Asian Championship qualifiers.

History and foundation

Women's football in Jordan traces back to the late 1990s, but the championship launched properly in 2008 under JFA. Early seasons featured 6–8 teams in a trial format. A milestone came in 2012 with Jordan's debut at the AFC Women's Asian Cup. In 2015, the national side reached the quarterfinals, spurring league investment. Notably, in 2019 amid regional unrest, matches continued uninterrupted, showcasing resilience. Amman Club holds the record with 7 titles through 2023.

Tournament format

The league follows a double round-robin: each of 8–10 teams plays home and away. Season runs September to May with a winter break. Points: 3 for win, 1 for draw. Top four advance to playoffs for the league cup. VAR trials began in 2022 for finals only. JFA academies prioritize youth integration.
