The Goa Women's League is a regional championship in the Indian state of Goa, integrated into the nation's women's football framework. Organized by the Goa Football Association under the All India Football Federation (AIFF), it unites top women's clubs from the state, fostering growth in women's soccer at a grassroots level. The league emphasizes skill enhancement, youth talent scouting, and empowering women in professional sports. In recent years, it has served as a crucial stepping stone for players aiming for the national team or higher divisions.

History and foundation

Launched in the early 2010s as part of AIFF's women's football development drive, the Goa Women's League held its inaugural official season in 2014 with four teams, expanding to eight by 2020. A milestone came in 2019 when league sides played inter-regional friendlies against Maharashtra clubs. The 2022 season faced disruptions from the pandemic but rebounded strongly. Notably, in 2021, the league's top scorer earned a call-up to India's youth national team, highlighting its role in nurturing talent.

Tournament format

The competition follows a double round-robin format with 6–8 teams, each playing home and away matches—totaling 21–28 games per season. Standings are based on points: 3 for a win, 1 for a draw. Ties are broken by goal difference and head-to-head results. The season runs from October to March, occasionally featuring playoffs for the top 4. Games occur on semi-professional pitches in Goa, including the Fatorda Stadium.
